Mezcal Strawberry Negroni Recipe

This delicious variation on the classic Negroni is best enjoyed with friends on a hot summer day at the beach.

Ingredients

1 oz Alipús Mezcal San Juan
1 oz Campari
1 oz Martini Rossi Sweet Vermouth
1 oz strawberry syrup
2-3 dashes Angostura Aromatic Bitters

Instructions

Shake all ingredients with ice, and strain into a chilled glass. Fill the glass with fresh ice and garnish with a strawberry and fresh mint or basil.

This recipe would also be easy to batch and bottle ahead, and serve when your guests arrive.

Strawberry Syrup Recipe

2 cups sliced strawberries
1 cup water
1/2 cup granulated sugar

Heat the strawberries, water and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil and the reduce the heat to a simmer. Cook for about 10-15 minutes until the strawberries are soft and can be easily mashed. In a medium bowl, strain the mixture through a fine sieve and discard the solids. Let cool.
